Located in the Eastern part of Italy, the area the Friuli Venezia Giulia is located at the border of Yugoslavia and Austria. Its county town, Trieste, beautiful marine city, with the Slavic and Austrian accents, has always inspired writers (Joyce, Svevo, RM Rilke...), the musicians (Liszt, Strauss...).

Aquilea, a few times second city of the Roman empire, deserve to make a detour for his Romance basilica and his archaeological museum.

Other cities as well are worth to be visited: Grado, charming old village (basilica Sant' Eufémia); Udine, which shelters artistic and architectural remarkable treasures (Palazzo del Comune, Lionello loggia, Tour of the Clock...);

Gorizia, garden city. Everyone knows by name San Daniele del Friouli, Italian capital of ham. If this area has acquired a recognized knowledge in pork-butchery, it has also other culinary specialities such as: the polenta, dishes of the sea, cakes. The white wines of the Friuli are delicious, without forgetting the inevitable grappa. If this area, thanks to the beauty of these mountains and the presence of its maritime coast, can offer a whole range of holidays activities (water sports, ski, golf...), it has another asset: its location close to Venice, undoubtedly the most beautiful city of the world!
