This area made of mountains and hills, in arc of circle on the Tyrrhenian Sea, is characterized by an abrupt coast, made of cliffs falling into the sea, of creeks and small ports. It is also the area of the famous summer stations such as San Remo, Imperia, Varazze, Portofino (vacation resort of many celebrities)...

Genes, capital of the area is the largest seaboard town of Italy. Its harbour and its old city are very rich in sites to discover and also its museums (such as Galleria del Palazzo Rosso which shelters one of the most important collections of painting in Italy).
