Called "the green heart of Italy", this area is even more attaching that it  
tries to preserve its nature and its traditions. Rich of its contrasts, Umbria is crossed with deep valleys being next to mountains covered with forests, with lakes of which the most famous the Trasimène.

Its cities seem unchanged since the Middle Ages. Old sleepy palaces, tortuous lanes, small squares where shelter shops presenting the craft industry Umbrian (ceramic of Deruta, laces of the lake Trasimène...): Assise, daily alive in the memory of Saint François and Holy Claire, conceals architectural treasures (Basilica Saint Francois...) and artistic (frescos of Cimabue, Giotto...). It is one of the most important centers of Christendom.

Orvieto where the “Duomo” owns the most beautiful frontages of Italy and
hold the splendid frescos of Luca Signorelli.

Perugia where cohabit the serenity of an imposing architecture and the vibrating life of our century (famous also for its Jazz festival).

And also Todi, Gubbio, Spello, Norcia, adorable and unchanged villages. To end, Umbria is worth to be visited only for its gastronomy: olive oil, game, pork-butcheries, cheeses, lentils, fish from the lakes, white wine of Orvieto... Umbria, it is the guarantee of serene and authentic holidays.
